Holy Week: Day 2

Day Two: The Talk

BIBLE PASSAGE: Matthew 21:28 - 22:46

After Jesus had disrupted the temple, He began to prepare his disciples for the end of His ministry. He gave His final teachings and had his last conversations on Tuesday. As He went to the temple, He was surrounded by His disciples, religious leaders, and all who were willing to listen.

The topic of His teachings varied, He shared the Parables of the Two Sons, the Evil Farmers, and The Great Feast all to explain the rejection He had received from His own people. He also celebrated the restoration of sinners who had accepted Him. He spoke about the resurrection, the end of times, and the commandment to love God with all our being. It was an intensive course full of truths about life, difficulties, and the future.

This talk was the conclusion of a long series of teachings Jesus had given throughout His 3- year ministry. It provided a response to the state of humanity, the hope we receive as we decide to believe in Him, and the glorious future of a believer. These teachings were given to summarize His ministry and prepare His disciples for what was to come in the following days and eternity.

Matthew 21:28 - 22:46 depicts an image of a father speaking to His children preparing them for the hard times that are to come.

APPLICATION:
While we were not physically present during this talk, we have insight thanks to the writings of the disciples. We have the responsibility to read these passages and examine our own lives. The more we read, the more we understand our position in the plan of God. Our hope grows when we open our hearts to His word.
